On September 21, 2009 testimony to support SB1173 was given before the Public Service Committee at the State House. The bill would provide a one-time opportunity for faculty and administrators enrolled in the Optional Retirement Plan a chance to make an informed decision about their retirement security and buy into the State Employees Retirement System.
If you are affected, please contact your district representative and senator by email and ask his or her support of the bill #1173. If the bill is reported favorably out of the Public Service Committee, it will be forward to the Ways and Means. The target date for a favorable report is mid November. This would be the time to contact your legislators.
